Xiaomi Mi 7 to arrive with Snapdragon 845 in Q1 2018

The is already a few months old and the manufacturer is allegedly already moving on to its Mi 7 successor. According to a Weibo leakster, the phone should have the Snapdragon 845 chipset. It also would update from an LCD, as seen on the Mi 6, to a Samsung-built AMOLED with a 6 diagonal. All the rumored specs sound logical, but what is intriguing is the alleged announcement. The Xiaomi Mi 7 might appear in Q1 2018, making it the first smartphone with the newest Qualcomm chipset. Other sources suggest a 6 GB RAM and even a possibility of 8 gigs version.

official US launch is set for September 15, but some pre-orders might be arriving much sooner than that. Reports are pouring in that shipments for the phone have already begun. Sprint and Verizon customers have confirmed that they have already received shipment notifications for their unit. Following is a screenshot shared by someone on Verizon: Some say their order is scheduled to arrive on today, others say their estimated delivery date is September 5 tomorrow. Samsung followed a similar strategy with the Galaxy S8 duo, where those who pre-ordered got their units ahead of the official launch. |

Samsung Galaxy J7+ is official with a 13MP+5MP dual rear camera

Samsung Galaxy J7+ is official with a 13MP+5MP dual rear camera

Now that the Note8 has been announced, Samsung can go ahead and release dual camera smartphones down the ranks. And it has the Galaxy J7+ has gone official in Thailand with a 13MP+5MP combo on its back, just like few days suggested. Joining the vanilla and the , the Galaxy J7+ comes with a 5.5-inch FullHD Super AMOLED display in an aluminum body. Unlike those two, however, the J7+ isn't powered by the in-house Exynos 7870 chip, but what appears to be the Mediatek Helio P20 the specs page doesn't name the SoC, but the 2.4GHz frequency and previous leaks point in that direction. Additionally, the J7+ packs 4GB of RAM unlike its stablemates which only come with 3 gigs. Storage is a reasonable 32GB with a microSD slot to increase that number by up to 256GB. Back to the camera the 13MP sensor sits behind a bright f/1.7 aperture lens, while the 5MP unit is mated to an f/1.9 lens. The second camera captures depth date to provide a post-shot focusing capability as well as bokeh effects. On the front, there's a 16MP f/1.9 selfie shooter. One noticeable change compared to the J7 Pro and J7 (2017), and it's a downgrade, is in battery capacity the specsheet of the J7+ reads 3,000mAh, while the other two boast 3,600mAh. And since the physical dimensions of the three phones are virtually identical, it has to be the dual camera to blame for the smaller power pack. Priorities. Other miscellaneous bits worth noting include a fingerprint sensor in the Home button, an always on display, and the Bixby Home app. The Galaxy J7+ is now on pre-order in Thailand for THB 12,900 (around $390) and the pre-order period ends on September 17, after which point the handset will presumably go on sale. Availability on other markets remains to be detailed.

Purported leak reveals Snapdragon 836 SoC and Android 8.0 Oreo for Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

Purported leak reveals Snapdragon 836 SoC and Android 8.0 Oreo for Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

While Xiaomi has the unveiling date for the Mi Mix 2, nothing else is currently confirmed about the device. Of course, there have been multiple so far, revealing details like Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6-inch screen, Nougat OS, , and 4,500mAh battery. Now, a new leak has emerged, and from the looks of it, it's aimed at taking the hype surrounding the device to a completely new level. The leak in question says the device will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC and run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Now, what makes us suspicious about this leak is the fact that Mi Mix 2 unveiling is set for September 11, meaning less than 10 days are left, and Snapdragon 836 SoC is yet to be officially announced by Qualcomm. Aside from this, we also doubt that we'll get to see a new Android 8.0 Oreo-powered phone so soon. Anyway, the leak also reveals other key specs, including 6.2 inch display with 2960 x 1440 pixel resolution and 4,400mAh memory. The leaked image also shows a 20MP sensor presumably it's the main unit, which rumors so far would have a dual camera setup.

T-Mobile now offers Buy One, Get One free deal for the Galaxy Note8

T-Mobile now offers Buy One, Get One free deal for the Galaxy Note8

A couple of days ago a leak told us about a that T-Mobile was supposedly launching today for the . And it turns out it was true: the carrier is now letting you grab two units while only paying for one. Here are the details. First off, both devices need to be bought with an equipment installment plan (EIP). You also need to add a line for the second phone if you're an existing customer (if you're new to the magenta carrier, you have to get two lines). Once you grab both Note8 units, you head to T-Mobile's online Promotions Center and enter the promo code 17CSAMN8BOGO. This needs to happen within 30 days of the purchase of your second device. Then, in about 6 to 8 weeks, you will receive a prepaid MasterCard with $930 on it. That is the full price of one Galaxy Note8. When you opt for the EIP, you pay $210 down and then 24 monthly installments of $30. Interestingly, this deal is even open to those who have already pre-ordered a Note8 on EIP. To take advantage of it, simply order another one using EIP (and add a line), then complete the steps outlined above. Note that T-Mobile says the promotion is available for a limited time only. It doesn't say exactly when it will expire, but if you're interested it's probably best to act fast. The second phone doesn't need to be a Note8, you can choose a or instead, but you will then only get the full retail value of that device on your prepaid MasterCard ($750 for the S8, $800 for the S8+). |

Sharp is launching phones in Europe as early as Q2 2018

Sharp is launching phones in Europe as early as Q2 2018

The Japanese company Sharp that launched the Aquos S2 with tri-bezel-less screen might arrive in Europe next summer. President and CEO of Sharp Jeng-Wu Tai confirmed this at an event in Berlin at IFA 2017. The first Sharp smartphones for the European market would appear at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. Sharp introduced its Aquos R flagship which was simply to show the strength of the brand, Tai later told journalists. The phone has a Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4 GB RAM with one 22.6 MP camera on the back with f/1.7 aperture and OIS. This device is a testament that Sharp is aiming to get into the ballpark of big players such as Samsung, LG, and Sony. earlier this year the with an almost full-screen display. The phone had minuscule bezels on three of the sides with the bottom also having a tiny bezel. We just have to wait until next year to see if the flagship would arrive in Europe or the company is already working on another smartphone.
